Are the Christmas decorations going up your local shopping malls yet ?

Christmas seems to come  earlier every year, and Bangkok is no exception. The beer gardens at Central World mall are under construction, which signifies the cool season is almost here.

Despite being a Buddhist country Thais love their Christmas lights and trees….any excuse for a party !

The tree seems to be missing a few branches though ?

Of course, Halloween comes around tomorrow, and that is another western festivity that Thais have borrowed. Bars are having Halloween parties, vendors are selling tatty Halloween odds and ends in the streets and at least some of the malls are decorated in a ghoulish theme …Thais also love a good ghost story.
